Brentwood's Orchestras for Young Musicians

About US

Brentwood's Orchestras for Young Musicians is a group of seven orchestras of varying ages and abilities. Our Common bond is our love of music and how much we enjoy playing together. We are a registered charity and our Trustees are led by Peter McCarthy (Chairperson), Ann Elderton (Musical Director) and Liz Martin (Treasurer).

We have over 200 members aged between 5 to 19 and many members are in more than one group.

Every orchestra is involved in at least 2 concerts each year. Most of our concerts are at Brentwood's Ursuline Covent High School, however, we also perform at St. Thomas's in Brentwood, Brentwood Cathedral, Holly Trees Primary School and Bishops Hall.

Some of our orchestras have been involved with Music for Youth National Festival and we held a large scale Gala Concert at Chelmsford Civic Theatre in 2009, hosted by Aled Jones. All our orchestras played at the Brentwood Cultural Olympiad Celebrations at the Brentwood Centre in July 2012
